think pink.........now think neutral.....now think of them together

it may sound weird.....but this is some of the easiest to follow, simple to understand makeup advice you'll ever get. when you want to look your best.......young, fresh, vibrant....glowing with good health......forgo all the makeup trends and "right now" colors.......and stick to pinks & neutral browns. that's all you need. yes, it really is that simple. they are flattering on every skin tone.....they bring out your natural beauty (and the color of your eyes, lips, etc).....they are foolproof shades that everybody can use. and you wanna know the best thing about them? you can mix them....and they compliment each other perfectly. i kid you not. for years i've been mixing and concocting colors in my bathroom....i can't leave an eyeshadow alone or wear just one lipstick or gloss.....i have to MIX..........i don't believe you can get just the right shade on its own......you need to LAYER colors to get the perfect blend. next time you're staring at yourself in the mirror...trying to decide what colors to wear......try this: got a nice, warm brown eyeshadow? good....put it on......now take your rosy blush and sweep a wash of color over the brown and blend.........yum. pretty, huh? same for blush.........mix two shades together (think healthy, blushing tan)........or do a sweep of the bronzer to give yourself a little mid-winter glow.....tap on a pinky, pearly highlighter on cheekbones, temples, bridge of nose.....then a warm, plummy blush.........same for lips......have a favorite neutral lipstick for a nude mouth? try a rosy tinted gloss over it to "blush" it up.....or in reverse......a mauve/rose/pink lipstick might be boring or even too bright on its own.....but when you put a brown-sugary lip gloss or glaze over it........it's magically transformed!! you may scoff and say this doesn't make sense..........but i'm telling you....it works every single time. from brides to prom girls to teaching teens how to use makeup for the first time.......i've tried this on every person who has ever sat in my makeup chair....and the results are gorgeous.....and natural.....and like you didn't have to try too hard...........and hey, isn't that what makeup is supposed to do?
